One Day, We Left is a book about 3,652 days of nomadic life—full of adventures, failures, and laughter.
It’s a collection of 53 personal stories, each short and to the point. Just like travel, some stories are fun, some are tough, and some make you think. Each one comes with a photograph, capturing a moment from the road.
Written by Kaspars Misins, a traveler and digital nomad from Latvia, who has spent the last 10+ years moving from place to place, sometimes visiting 20+ countries a year. Together with his wife Una, he has explored over 55 countries, learning, failing, and figuring things out along the way.
This isn’t a guide. It’s a glimpse into what a decade of nomadic life really looks like.
One Day, We Left
Here are a few of these stories that you’ll find in this book:
Can you cycle across India eating only cookies?
Arriving in the future with a broken arm, broken bicycle, and a smile on the face
Step-by-step guide on how to buy, crash, and sell a motorbike in Cambodia
Day in the life of a frozen chicken drumstick master
Everest, here we come…. in jeans, and with no shoes
There’s too much snow! It’s impossible to get across the mountain pass
The airport is closed. There was a volcanic eruption
It’s gonna be tough. It’s gonna be hot. We might need to sleep on the floors. Do you want to join us?
I almost drowned that day
I spent a month living in a capsule

Travelers, digital nomads, and creators of the travel community “Latvieši Ceļo”.
If you are from Latvia, you probably know our Facebook group (88 thousand travelers), website latviesicelo.lv, or Instagram account @latviesicelo. And in that case, you already know that we travel a lot.
If you are not from Latvia, you may have seen Make Adventure Happen, We Are From Latvia, Mister K, or our travel website on air travel rules and regulations connectingflights.info.
We have been traveling very actively since 2012.
At the moment, we have been to around 55 countries, many of which we have visited several times.
Since 2014, we have been educating others about traveling.
